Huwaw! This is our first "official day" as practicumers sa Life Change. Magkahalong emosyon ang naramdaman ko ng araw na 'yon. Excited- dahil sa wakas this is it! magsisimula na ang bagong karanasan namin bilang isang ganap na nagsasanay sa larangan ng sikolohiya.At kasabay nito ang takot at kaba na mag-handle ng mga activity at group processes.
Dahil nga excited ako sa unang araw ng aming practicum. Hindi ako gaanong nakatulog. haha.. biro lang. Dumating ako sa Life Change ng 7:30 ng umaga. sapagkat maaga pa, nag-bonding muna kaming magka'kaybigan sa garden, sa may paborito naming tambayan. Nilalasap ang sariwang simoy ng hangin ng papalapit na pasko.Walang kamatayang kwentuhan at tsikahan pa habang nakatambay. hahaha.. Kinukondisyon ko ang puso at isip ko sa pagdating ni Sir Al. lagot ako sa kanya!
Oh here comes Sir Al. Gusto ko ng lamunin ng lupa sa kinatatayuan ko. I don't have enough courage to face him. I feel so bad that I disappoint him. I was not able to finish the task he assigned to me due to some inevitable circumstances. God has answered my earnest prayer and everything was settled down. Praise the Lord! He never leaves me nor forsaken me. Time to focus on the present… Let go of the past. baunin lang ang mga aral na natutunan.

The first session in the morning is a worship service- an offertory for the Lord. Sir Al serves as the worhip leader at si Ptr. Paul ang naghatid ng mensahe from the Word of God. I was truly blessed with the singing of praise songs for the Lord. namnagha din ako kung gaano kaganda ang boses ni Sir Al. Truly, this man has blessed with so many spiritual gifts from God. Pastor Paul renders a timely message for the christmas season. He emphasized that the real essence of celebrating the christmas season is the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to redeemed us from our sins. Sapagkat ganun na lamang ang pagmamahal ng Diyos sa sanlibutan na ibinigay niya nag kanyang bugtong na anak na si Hesus upang ang sinumang manampalataya ay di mapahamak bagkus ay magkaron ng buhay na walang hanggan sa langit.

The rest of the day ay dine'vout namin sa paggawa ng christmas decoration sa session hall. Haha.. Lahat ng artistic inclination namin ay talagang na-challenge at napiga. Oh i hate it! biglang sumakit ang ngipin ko. It affects my whole system. Naging hindrance ang sakit ko upang di ako makatulong sa mga kasamahan ko with all my might. But still I love the way my friends care for me. i feel so loved by them. Masarap din pala magkasakit paminsan minsan (naks! ang cheezy).
Overall, maganda ang kinalabasan ng aming group effort. Sir Al really appreciates our crafts. And I can feel na lahat ay excited na for tomorrow's affair.

Thanksgiving for God-Given Joys

This favorite Scripture resounds with rejoicing and thanksgiving to the Lord, who can redeem our sorrows and truly transform mourning into dancing. Does such a great God not deserve our appreciation, at Thanksgiving and always? Oh He really deserves it and more! :)
For today Sir Al gather us and requested us to create blogs about our daily experiences at Life Change Recovery Center. He gave us standard introduction for each entry. Personally, I'm not used in making blogs and sharing my thoughts in the net. So I have hard times doing my blog entries. I site some useful info about the nature of blog.

It’s always good to begin the day with a thanksgiving unto God. Thanking Him for the blessing of new life each morning.
This week ay tinatawag na "no theme week" na ibig sabihin we can facilitate any activity that we want. Kaya nag'usap usap kaming mga practicum students para mag'came up ng fun- filled games and activities na magugustuhan ng mga residents. Si Lala at Mary ang nanguna sa pagpapa'facilitate sa morning session with the residents. Una muna ay acquiantance game na tinatawag na "Pik Pak Boom". We chose this game para makilalang lubusan ng mga resident’ ang mga bagong practicum students from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Nag'enjoy ako sa laro dahil nakasalamuha ko ang mga residents na matagal ko ding makakasama sa pag'stay ko sa LCRC. Iba iba ang mga kalagayan ng mga residents; may mga addiction, behavioral at psychiatric cases. I'm Happy :) kasi nakapag'laid na ako ng good rapport sa kanila.
Next activity ay ang "Captain and the Ship" na pinangunahan ni Lala. This activity enables the residents to appreciate the people around them. As the saying goes "Nobody is an island". We lived to have fellowship with one another and enjoyed each other company. I remember a famous quotation from a recent book I read.

The activity tells us that it is important to built good and lasting relationship with others. Life would be more happier and meaningful if youshared your moments with others.
Pagkatapos ngmorning session it's time to have a break and eat our yummy lunch. Then we proceed for another brainstorming for the afternoon session.I belong to the afternoon group kaya we prepare rhe necessary materials for our game. Our games is mostly for teambuilding and improving cooperation of the participants. Masaya kasi maglaro ng sama sama at nagtutulungan.
pagkatapos ng lahat ng mga ginawa namin.. it's evaluation time withSir Al.He gave us valuable inputs on how to improve our facilitation skills. He told us that we have the potential and our tasked is to let it grow...

Christmas waves a magic wand over this world, and behold, everything is softer and more beautiful.

Ramdam ko na ang Christmas fever... kabila- kabila ang mga Christmas party celebrations. At hindi naman magpapahuli ang LCRC sa mga ganyang okasyon. Bilang pakikiisa sa season ay nagkaroon ng Christmas Party presentation.Dumating kami sa Life Change ng 4:00 ng hapon galing pa kaming PUP nun kaya hagard pa ng dumating kami.
Masaya ang atmosphere sa LCRC. lahat ay excited sa mga magaganap sa party, Ganun din sa mga inihandang special presentation ng mga residents, staff at students. Bago magsimula ang program proper- nagsagawa muna ng dress rehearsal. Grabee... talagang sinisigurado na maganda ang flow ng program.
Nagsimula ang program ng bandang 7:00 ng gabi. late ng dalawang oras sa naka'set na takdang oras. Nakaka'inip ang paghihintay at nakakagutom din as well. Ang mga residents ay excited ng simulan ang program.
Sa wakas, nag'start na ang kasiyahan. Sinimulan sa isang panuluyan- ang pagsasadula ng paano ipinanganak ang Panginoong Hesus sa sabsaban. Hindi ako sang-ayon sa story ng Panuluyan. Hindi naman kasi ganun ang nakasaad sa Bible tungkol sa tunay na mga pangyayari sa pagsilang kay Hesus. Aun.
Pagkatapos, naghandog ng mga presentaston ang mga mag'aaral ng UST, PUP at Manila Central University. Kanya- kanyang pasiklaban ng talento para sa ikasisiya ng mga residents at panauhin.
Lubha akong nagalak sa pagtatanghal ng mga residents. lahat sila ay may mga potential na kailangang linangin. Hanga ako dahil sa kabila ng kanilang circumstances ay buong giliw at husay silang nag'perform. wala kang itulak kabigin sa mga performances.
Mas lalo kong na'appreciate ang pagmamahal ng Panginoon sa kanila. Dumadaan man sila sa pagsubok, I truly believe that God has a greater plan for them. Maybe now we cannot understand it because His ways are higher than our ways. I strongly believe that everything has a season. God loves them that He allows them to be in Life Change Recovery Center to learn and to be trained and prepare for the greater challenge in the outside world.
Dahil late ng nag'start ang program, inabutan ng maraming gutom ang mga tao kabilang na ako. haha.. waw.. Catering service ang bahala sa madami naming gutom. I really enjoy the food. parang sana wala ng bukas. Ang sarap ng sisig at fish fillet in buttered lemon sauce. mabenta sa panlasa ko.Umaapaw talaga sa pagkain.. kalimutan muna ang diet. Chow!
Pagkatapos ng masarap na kainan. ipagpatuloy ang naputol na kasiyahan. It’s the nurses and staff turn to show off their talents with a jabbawockeez inspired dance number. Bravo!
Natapos ang program sa congregational singing ng station i.d ng kapamilya network ang " Bro, ang star ng pasko". Tunay na naging madamdamin ang mensahe ng awitin na ang tunay na diwa ng pasko ay walang iba kundi si Hesu Kristo at wala ng iba. hindi si Santa Claus o si Rudolf (hahaa..)
